One of the lesser-known benefits of bathing is that merely lying in a warm bath can burn calories! Researchers discovered participants burned as many calories in a hot bath as they did on a 30-minute walk. Though not a replacement for being active, it can add a calorie-burning boost to your day.

Baths also decrease inflammation and reduce pain in the body. Research has found that when you take a bath, your body increases inflammation briefly and then produces anti-inflammation chemicals.
