Back to Basics: Four Benefits of CBD
The Deal with the Dose
In general, human dosages range anywhere between 20 and 1500 milligrams (mg) per day. But determining where your dosage falls within this range depends on a variety of factors, including:
Body weight
The condition you are treating
Your sensitivity level
Other medications you may be taking
The concentration of CBD in the product
With all of these variables to consider, it is recommended that you talk with your doctor about an appropriate dosage and potential risks. If your doctor tells you how much to use, stick to their recommendation. If not, it is best to start with a small dosage and gradually increase it. For example, some start with 20mg per day, and gradually increase this amount by 5mg a week until they feel their symptoms are being treated.

To review, CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound produced by cannabis and hemp plants. CBD has many health benefits but, unlike THC, does not produce the feeling of being high. This is making CBD an increasingly popular product for growing numbers of people to help treat a wide variety of ailments, particularly topicals.
CBD + Alcohol
CBD + Pets
As CBD has gained great popularity for its healing properties, people have begun to extend these benefits to their pets as well. In a recent survey conducted by the Veterinary Information Network, an online community of veterinarians, nearly two-thirds of respondents said they were asked about cannabis by their patients at least once a month. People are turning to CBD to help manage pain, arthritis, seizures and other health problems in their dogs and other pets. But with this recent emergence, many questions are raised: How do I use these products? How much should I use? And, is it even safe? We explore these questions and more to help you determine if CBD is right for your furry friends:
