With the holidays right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about holiday shopping! We have teamed up with Main Street Oceanside and their Shop Local program for this very unique holiday season.
Shop Local Oceanside is a partnership between Main Street Oceanside and City of Oceanside Economic Development to safely support our Downtown Oceanside businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will run from Friday, November 20 to Sunday, December 20, 2020, and encourages the local community to shop at local businesses in store and online. There will be a digital coupon book, in-store socially distanced shopping events, social media contests and a holiday window decorating contest. What is Main Street Oceanside?
Main Street Oceanside is committed to supporting Oceanside’s economy, leveraging local leadership and improving overall quality of life for residents and businesses alike. Originally formed in the early 1990’s as a loosely organized group of business people, the group eventually decided to take a more organized approach to downtown issues and became a certified California Main Street city in July 2000. Since then. through sustained and inclusive community engagement, this MainStreet program has continued to grow and improve Oceanside’s economy. Main Street Oceanside operates several programs throughout the year, including community events, the Shop Local program, the Oceanside morning Farmers Market, and Sunset Market. Shop Local Program
The Shop Local program is a local initiative to support local stores and businesses. Through a variety of year round events, this program entices customers to shop locally and engage with the local community. In-store retail shopping is again permitted in Downtown Oceanside with proper social distancing measures and county protocols in place! ?Continue to support local businesses, while also remaining safe and healthy, by placing orders online, via phone, or by shopping in person with a face mask and maintaining social distance.

The Merry Makers Fair
The Merry Makers Fair is scheduled for Saturday, December 12 from 10am – 4pm. It will be located at Lot 35, at the corner of Tremont Street and Pier View Way. The fair will feature many local vendors in a safe outdoor environment. It is a festive way to safely engage with the community and get some Christmas shopping in!
The Oceanside Morning Farmers Market
The Oceanside Morning Farmers Market is held every Thursday from 9am-1pm in Downtown Oceanside. It features dozens of vendors offering a rich variety of fresh local produce, flowers, nursery items and more.
Following local and state guidelines, the market has reopened as a no-touch market to ensure the safety and well-being of attendees and vendors. Masks are required and social distancing is enforced. The restructured market provides an open-air, socially distanced and cart-free alternative to traditional grocery shopping in Downtown Oceanside.
Sunset Market
Though the MainStreet Oceanside’s Sunset Market has remained closed to minimize the risk of COVID-19, many of our market vendors are taking orders online or over the phone for pickup, mail or home delivery. A full list of local vendors are available on their website. Several of our vendors are now also weekly vendors at the Oceanside Morning Farmers Market.
