Back to School

This past summer was one for the record books. Record travel, record prices and record delays with travel such as flights. And now…school is back in session.

With every new school year comes an excitement of a new grade level, seeing old friends, making new ones, and a whole new routine of schoolwork, more demanding classes and activities. It’s no wonder this can be one of the most stressful times of year for parents and children alike.

According to a recent survey of 1000 parents done by Care.com, there were 9 major stressors that both the mother and father experiences during the school year. They range from having children wake earlier for school, traffic, to managing school supply expenses.

So, how do parents and caregivers manage this stress?

According to Park Ave Magazine, plan a back to school routine and stick to it as much as possible. Also, helping parents manage their own personal stress is critical. Getting exercise, yoga, and carving out personal downtime can help a caregiver manage both theirs and the student’s anxiety.

Also, knowing when to get a little extra help when necessary. CBD can be a very effective tool in relieving those jitters and stressful days. According to Cosmopolitan Magazine, CBD is a natural way to induce relaxation and still be mindful. In their most recent article, CBD oil for anxiety: Does CBD help anxiety?, they explore the many benefits of CBD oil and effective ways to take them.

Parents today face an ever-increasing level of stress with school days ahead but also have an abundance of tools to draw from to help manage those tough times. Understanding that no one can do everything and flexing with the changes is instrumental in this upcoming school year.
